Exhausted beyond belief...yet there is still hope in 'dem bones.
Since my last blog, my life has been literally non-stop. And maybe brought on by my birthday last week, I had a minor meltdown at the beginning of the week.
Looking back, I can easily point to the following as the cause of such an outbreak:
- Went out to California with Julie to try and sort through my Dad and his wife's challenges. Their issues are basically all related to health. She has had a heart attack in the last month, has had several defribrilators put in and is in a slow recovery. His is declining mobility. The reason I went out is that he wanted some financial help in getting a new van. I am not against that. I just wanted to understand their situation and wanted to have them have a contingency plan that was clear to both of them if either of their health's took a serious turn for the worse. Clearly and literally, I was told to mind my own business.
- Da Company - I don't know if it is a convergence or what, but I have just felt a tremendous amount of pressure lately in regards to getting things done. What has changed to cause that? I really don't know, but I certainly feel it.
- Pool business - Just another thing to pull my attention. While the future is good, there is so much that needs to get done to make this season successful and I am not getting the help I have been promised to insure success. That causes some frustration and adds a bit more pressure.
- Real Estate - It is going in the right direction, but requires time...something that I am in short supply of.
- Church - there is a big celebration/ordination coming at the end of March. I am responsible for 4 power point presentations, PLUS getting the LCD projector quoted, purchased and installed.
- Julie - she wants and needs time. Her Dad is just recovering from bypass surgery on his heart. That has put a strain on her for sure and also has effected me as well.
Everyone thinks that what I do is easy. And indivdually, these tasks are not a problem. But combined, they take a toll. And last Monday was my day of meltdown. I literally put in a 14 hour day and when I called Julie to ask about dinner, I just ended up in a major blowout with her.
The good thing is that I can count on my hand the number of times it has happened. The bad thing is when they happen, they are not pretty to see or attend.
But as usual, I do digress...
Although I am just finishing working 6 LOOOOONG days in a row, things are looking up. Let me get back to blogging regularly to catch you (and me) up.
Blog on!
