It is all about the benjamins…for them that is! Posting late, but posting none the less!!!

As I indicated in an earlier blog, my right ankle is continually throbbing. I think I have torn my Achilles tendon. I called Lori earlier in the week and told her that if that I came to Detroit because I didn’t want to cause a commotion airfare wise, but that I had a local that I could delay for a week and go to the doctor on Thursday.

At least she listened, but the bottom line is that I am going to the client instead of the doctor. Besides, I said, the client isn’t ready, I will have to use my laptop and the application isn’t working at the moment ( a result of trying to upgrade unsuccessfully) “We need the revenue” she said. So much for looking out for the employee. No big deal if my leg will just throb for another week before I can go to the doctor. Oh yeah, I love my job L

I guess this is the week for lost opportunities and mega work. Some of my dearest client friends are in Detroit and I had tried to meet up with them. We had emailed back and forth, but I didn’t want to push myself on to them. Do you ever have those thoughts where you think that they are tired of your visits or something? So, I didn’t push it. Of course, who should call this afternoon and be bummed out that I hadn’t contacted them by phone????

I have decided to drive home tonight when I land in Atlanta. Then I will get up extra early in the morning for a 3 hour drive to Macon, Georgia.

I haven’t heard much from the gang this week. It may not be for lack of trying though. It seems when I was at Da Company and had my email forwarded to my personal account, I used up all my bandwidth and it was bouncing back emails to me. So, I had a choice of stopping the email forwarding or not have access on my palm. I upgraded my account.

Julie is just amazing to me. She has time for everything and everyone else when it is fun. But ask her to do something as simple as making an appointment for me or a bank deposit for the business and she has a million and one excuses on why she didn’t do it. But get her hair done, go to see her friends, make plans for the weekend to go boating (of which between the pools and house buying I won’t have time to do) and she has attention/drive to last forever. Is this what my life is doomed to be? I feel like the story told to me when I was a kid about the hen who asked the little chicks who was going to help sow, plant, water the crops and the only time they were available was when it was time to reap the benefits. That’s how I justify to myself some of the pleasures that I take when I am on the road.

Anyhow, enough bitching for now. It is not normally my nature and I don’t want to start now.

Blog on!
